FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW OFTEN CAN I WORKOUT?
Health Canada recommends 150 minutes of exercise per week so three 50 minute workouts would be considered the minimum.  All new Clients of F.I.T. by Colin start with a five session minimum to ensure that you see some results and get the hang of the program.  Most clients train twice a week and I design a program for them to do on their own.  You may want to start with twice a week for the first 8 weeks to ensure you see some success during the habit forming time period.  After getting in the habit, then go to once a week and keep doing your custom program the rest of the week.

WHAT IF I WANT TO EXERCISE MORE THAN THREE TIMES A WEEK?
If you are lucky enough to have more than three hours a week to exercise we can help you find other forms of exercise.  Our role as personal trainers is to guide you through your health and fitness choices and find activities that are right for you.  You may need yoga, running or walking group, personal training, or even a nutritionist to achieve your best results.  We have a network of health professionals that we have partnered up to offer you a complete health solution.

IS IT A HARD WORKOUT?
Yes it is difficult, you’re at the gym. We don’t want you to throw up though.  We start gradually and build up the intensity as you become accustomed to the routine.

WHAT IF I HAVE AN UNEXPECTED APPOINTMENT OR EMERGENCY AND HAVE TO CANCEL AT THE LAST MINUTE?
Unfortunately we have to strictly enforce our cancellation policy so you will have to pay for that session.  You will have the ability to modify the rest of your monthly schedule if required.

WHAT IF I NEED TO CHANGE MY WORKOUT TIME OR CAN’T DO ALL OF MY WORKOUTS NEXT MONTH
Everybody travels or has to take a week off. As long as we have 24 hours notice we can find another day and time for your workout.  You only pay for the number of workouts you do per month.

WHAT IF I WANT TO PERMANENTLY CHANGE MY WORKOUT TIME?
No problem.  As long as a spot is open, you can have it.

WHY DO I HAVE TO PAY IN ADVANCE?
Paying in advance is both an administrative and a motivational tool.  Money is a big motivator.  If you know that you will have to pay for a workout that you don’t attend, it will give you that extra motivation to drag yourself to the gym even if you don’t feel like it.  Besides, you’ll feel so much better after the class is over. Having the 24 hour cancellation policy allows us to put someone into the vacant spot if they need it.

HOW LONG AM I GUARANTEED MY SPOT IF I TAKE A BREAK FROM PERSONAL TRAINING?
Your workout time will be held for one month.  After one month of inactivity, the spot will open up for other clients.

WHAT IF I DECIDE NOT TO CONTINUE WITH F.I.T.?  
Life happens.  If you need to take a break for whatever reason, you will need to use up your remaining sessions as they are non-refundable and non-transferable.  Once they are used up, you can go on your way to a life of health and fitness.  If you have any sessions remaining, they will be waiting for you when you decide to come back and train.

WHAT IF I AM LATE FOR A CLASS?
If you arrive late for a workout, you will only be able to go until the end of your allotted time.

WHAT IF I HAVE TO LEAVE EARLY?
If you have a previous engagement, you can leave a few minutes early.  We don’t recommend booking anything for an hour after your workout, you’ll need it to recover and re-fuel.
